Overcoming Depression

Sadness is normal. Most of the time sadness comes and goes and we know why it manifested in the first place. Sometimes, however, sadness hangs on and maybe it's not so clear what is causing it. No one wants to feel sad. Lingering sadness, however, is an important messenger. It is an indicator that something is not quite right in your life.

Clinical depression is different from depressed mood. Someone with clinical depression may:

  • Have feelings of emptiness
  • Feel constantly on the verge of tears
  • Lack interest in activities they once enjoyed
  • Feel tired all the time
  • Experience feelings of worthlessness
  • Experience weight loss or gain
  • Have trouble sleeping or sleep too much
  • Have trouble concentrating
  • Have thoughts of self harm

If you recognize some of these symptoms in your life now, you may have clinical depression. I am here to tell you THERE IS HOPE. You can pull yourself out of the darkness.

While psychotherapy is sufficient for some, studies show a combination of psychotherapy and medication is the best treatment for depression. If you are open to medication, I will help you find a doctor who can prescribe it. Together, we will work as a team to conquer your depression!
